2027 Preliminary Tax Levy and Budget

Setting the preliminary property tax levy for taxes payable in 2027.
The City must certify a preliminary levy to the County Auditor by September 30. The final levy adopted in December may be lower than the preliminary levy but may not be higher.
The recommended preliminary levy is $3,412,000, an increase of 5.8% over 2026. Most of the increase covers the first debt payment on the 2026 street reconstruction bonds and the second year of the police contract settlement.
Recommendation
Adopt Resolution 2026-41 setting the preliminary levy at $3,412,000.

Levy increase of 5.8%. Estimated impact on a $250,000 home is $9 per month.
